Synopsis: Public Safety received information about the theft of an A-frame sign from Bond Lot between Worth Health Center and Benjamin West Building. The value of the sign is $300. Matter under investigation.

Fire Alarm

Location: Wharton Residence Hall
Synopsis: Public Safety and Facilities responded to a fire alarm within Wharton Residence Hall. Upon arrival it was determined that the alarm was activated due to a leak.

Medical Emergency

Date: February 4, 2015

Location: Willets Residence Hall
Synopsis: Public Safety, Swarthmore Police and Ambulance responded to Willets Residence Hall for the report of an ill Swarthmore staff member. The staff member was transported to the hospital.

Synopsis: Public Safety responded to Sproul Observatory for the report of two thefts of iPhone earbuds. The value of the items is $59. Matter under investigation.

Synopsis: Public Safety responded to Sharples Dining Hall for the report of an electrical motor burning odor. Upon arrival, the area was checked with negative results. Facilities notified.

Assist to Other Police Department

Location: Chester Road
Synopsis: Public Safety received a report of a vehicle accident with no injuries on Chester Road by the Bond Lot entrance. Officers responded to assist Swarthmore Police who were already on scene.

Synopsis: Public Safety received a report form a Swarthmore staff member about newspapers that had been tampered with in McCabe Library. The matter is under investigation.

Synopsis: GARNET Safety System activation. Emergency notification tools tested. Test began at 1:00 pm and was completed 1:10 pm. No further action required.

Synopsis: Public Safety responded to Sproul Observatory for the theft of a leather notebook from a staff member’s desk. The value of the item is $15. Matter under investigation.

Synopsis: Public Safety responded to a report of a person in the Crum cutting wood. The individual was identified and requested to leave campus. The individual left without incident.

Synopsis: Public Safety and Swarthmore Police Department responded to the Crum woods for the report of a fire within the woods. The area was checked with negative results.

Synopsis: Public Safety and Swarthmore Police Department observed a Swarthmore resident student staggering up the walkway to the Women’s Resource Center. The student was cited for underage drinking.

Synopsis: Public Safety, Swarthmore Police Department and Ambulance responded to the Women’s Resource Center for the report of an ill student. Upon arrival it was determined that the student was intoxicated and was transported to the hospital. The student was cited for underage drinking.

Ill Student

Date: February 8, 2015

Location: Alice Paul Residence Hall
Synopsis: Public Safety responded to Alice Paul for the report of an ill Swarthmore resident student. Upon arrival it was determined that the student had consumed alcohol and was well enough to stay with a friend. Matter referred to the Dean’s office.
