Synopsis: Public Safety received a report of a borough resident’s bicycle missing from the Swarthmore Presbyterian Church nursery. The bike was last observed on Swarthmore College’s campus, behind the grandstands on Clothier Fields. The area was checked with negative results. Swarthmore Police were notified.

Synopsis:Public Safety received a report of an unleashed dog in Crum Woods that jumped on another visitor in the woods. Matter is under investigation.

Location: Parrish Hall

Synopsis: A Public Safety Office on routine patrol was approached by two college employees who reported that students were walking on the exterior ledges of Parrish Hall. Investigation determined the students had exited the building through a window near the Phoenix office. The students were identified and advised of the hazards of being on the roof. matter forwarded to the Deans office for further action.

Fire Alarm

Date: Wednesday, November 19

Time: 6:53 pm

Location: Cornell Library Addition

Synopsis: Public Safety responded to a fire alarm within Cornell Library Addition. Upon arrival there was no sign of smoke or fire. There was no source for the activation. Facilities notified.

Synopsis: Public Safety received a report of an unknown individual outside of Mertz Residence Hall. The area was checked with negative results.

Location: Science Center

Synopsis: Public Safety received a report from a Swarthmore staff member about the theft of their iPad from within the Dupont Science Center. The value of the iPad is $200. The matter is under investigation.

Date: Friday, November 21

Time: 9:33 am

Location: Parrish East Circle

Synopsis: While on patrol, a Public Safety officer observed a driver, not affiliated with Swarthmore College, impatiently tailgating another driver while the driver was asking a Public Safety officer for directions. The Public Safety officer spoke with the individual who left campus without incident.

Location: Lang Performing Arts Center

Synopsis: Public Safety observed a dumpster blocking stairs at loading dock. Appropriate offices have been notified to remedy the matter.

Fire Alarm

Time: 2:34 pm

Location: Hallowell Residence Hall

Synopsis: Public Safety responded to a fire alarm within Hallowell Residence hall. Upon arrival there was a smoke but no fire. It was determined that a curling iron may have been the cause.

Location: Off campus location

Synopsis: Public Safety received a report from a Swarthmore student about a vehicle accident that took place off campus while operating a college owned vehicle. Information forwarded to appropriate offices.

Public Drunkenness

Date: Sunday, November 23

Time: 1:05 am

Location: Delta Upsilon Fraternity House

Synopsis: Public Safety was notified about a student attending a party who had become disruptive and uncooperative. The student was asked to leave and refused. The student ultimately went to their dorm without further incident. Tier 1 on call was notified.

Medical Emergency

Date: Sunday, November 23

Time: 11:53 am

Location: Lamb Miller Field House

Synopsis: Public Safety responded to Lamb Miller Field House for the report of an injury at the Volleyball Tournament. Upon arrival it was determined the individual was a non Swarthmore student. Medical attention was declined.
