Location: Worth Residence Hall
Synopsis: Public Safety responded to a fire alarm within Worth Residence Hall. Upon arrival, it was determined that the alarm was activated due to steam from a curling iron.
Status: Cleared

 

Public Safety Assistance

Date: Monday, March 3
Time: 2:58 p.m.
Location: Palmer Residence Hall
Synopsis: Public Safety and the College Locksmith responded to a request to change the lock on a dorm room within Palmer Residence Hall. Upon arrival, the room was occupied, but the occupant left without incident.

Location: Swarthmore College Campus
Synopsis: On 3/4/2014 Public Safety received an online Clery report alleging illegal activity occurring on campus by a known male student. The exact dates, times, and activity are unknown. The matter is under investigation.

Synopsis: On 3/4/2014 Public Safety received an online Clery report alleging a Sexual Assault occurring on campus by a known male student. The exact dates, times, and activity are unknown. The matter is under investigation.

Controlled Substance Other Possession, Fire Alarm, Safety Hazard

Date: Thursday, March 6
Time: 12:27 a.m.
Location: Worth Residence Hall
Synopsis: Public Safety Officers responded to a fire alarm activation within Worth Residence hall. Upon arrival, officers detected a strong odor of an illegal substance and a haze of smoke. Further investigation determined that a resident student was smoking in the building. This matter has been referred to the Dean’s Office.

Synopsis: Public Safety responded to Wharton Residence Hall for the report of two individuals sleeping in the lounge. Upon arrival the individuals were identified as Swarthmore resident students and left the area without incident. No further action required.

Elm Avenue

Date: Friday, March 7
Time: 2:17 p.m.
Location: Public property
Synopsis: Public Safety, Facilities, and Swarthmore Police responded to the report of wires down on Elm Ave. It was determined that the wires were phone/cable wires. Cable and Phone companies were notified.

Synopsis: Public Safety responded and multiple Police Departments responded to the Septa Train Station for the report of a man matching the description of a suspects involved in a hit and run. The individual was identified and released and officers cleared the scene.

Synopsis: Public Safety Officers responded to the areas of 405 Rogers Lane and the Dupont parking Lot to assist local law enforcement officers who were searching for individuals involved in a hit and run accident with a police officer.

Synopsis: Public Safety Officers responded to the area of Alice Paul Residence Hall to assist Swarthmore Police Department with an injured deer.
