Synopsis: Public Safety responded to a fire alarm within Wharton Residence Hall. The building was evacuated. There was no sign of fire or smoke. It was determined that the cause of the alarm was burnt food. The alarm was reset.

  1. Should the wording be “declined medical treatment” rather than “refused”? It feels very different.

    • “Refusal” is pretty standard in a medical context; it is the opposite of “consenting” to medical assistance. It implies that the individual made an informed decision to not seek medical attention, not the much more passive “decline.”
