The Swarthmore Field Hockey Team is 7th in Division III averaging 13.55 penalty corners per game.

Sophia Agathis ’13 earned her 25th career assist in Tuesday’s 6-3 loss to Eastern.  The assist also gave Agathis 65 career points.  The senior is 11th in program history in points, six shy of a ninth place tie.  The 25 assists are good for sixth in program history, two shy of fifth.

Men’s Soccer

John Pontillo ’13 scored his fifth career goal with an insurance header in Saturday’s 2-0 shutout of McDaniel.  Pontillo’s goal was his second of the year, his first coming two days earlier in a big 2-1 road victory over Muhlenberg.

Noah Sterngold ’14 picked up his fifth career assist with a pair of helpers in Saturday’s 2-0 victory over McDaniel.  Sterngold’s switching ball sent Mike Stewart in on a break early in the first half and his service into the area late in the second was headed home by Pontillo.  Sterngold has assisted on three of the team’s last four goals.

Mike Stewart ’15 scored his 1oth career goal with a breakaway finish in Saturday’s 2-0 win over McDaniel.  Stewart’s goal was his team-leading sixth of the season and the sophomore now has six game-winning goals in his first 28 games.

Volleyball

Samantha DuBois ’16 picked up her 100th career dig in Saturday’s 3-0 loss to Johns Hopkins.  DuBois is the second freshman to surpass 100 digs this year joining classmate Madison Heppe, who is now 26 shy of 200.  DuBois is also the fourth Garnet player to reach 100 digs this season along with Heppe, Kat Montemurro ’13 and Danielle Sullivan ’14.

Brone Lobichusky’14 registered her 400th career kill in Saturday’s 3-0 loss to Johns Hopkins.  Lobichusky is fourth on the team this year in kills and is hitting a career-best .264 this season, good for fourth in the Conference.

Kat Montemurro ’13 recorded her 900th career kill in Wednesday’s 3-1 loss to Franklin & Marshall.  With 918 kills, Montemurro is 82 shy of becoming the fourth player in program history to reach the millennium mark.  With 3.19 kills per set, Montemurro is fifth in the Centennial.

Women’s Soccer

Ellen Bachmanhuff ’15 earned her first career assist and fifth career point off a free kick in Thursday’s 4-1 victory over Cabrini.  The center-back’s delivery from just inside the midfield stripe took a wicked hop over the Cabrini keeper and off the right post where it was touched in by Emma Sindelar ’15 to open the scoring.
