Dorm Room Smoke Detector Alarm

Time: 11:19 PM

Location: Roberts Residence Hall

Synopsis: Public Safety responded to smoke detector alarm in Roberts Residence Hall. There was no smoke or fire. lt was determined that the alarm was activated due to the heat being turned on in the building.

Dorm Room Smoke Detector Alarm

Date: Monday, October 18, 2018

Time: 12:58 PM

Location: Pittenger Residence Hall

Synopsis: Public Safety responded to the report of an alarm sounding in a residence in Pittenger Residence Hall. It was determined that the alarm was activated due to the heat being turned on in the building.

Date: Monday, October 15, 2018

Time: 6:55 PM

Location: Worth Residence Hall

Synopsis: Public Safety responded to a fire alarm in Worth Residence Hall. There was no smoke or fìre. The cause for the alarm could not be determined. Facilities notified.

Date: Monday, October 15, 2018

Time: 8:45 PM

Location: Whittier Place

Synopsis: While on patrol, Public Safety discovered an alarm sounding in a classroom in the Science Center. A Swarthmore employee was contacted and instructed the Officer to turn off the alarm. lt was determined that the alarm was activated due to the power outage.

Date: Monday, October 15, 2018

Time: 6:06 PM

Location: Swarthmore College Campus

Synopsis: Public Safety received reports and alarms due to a campus wide power outage. The cause of the outage was not determined. Peco and Facilities notified. Power restored within the hour.

Date: Tuesday, October 16, 2018

Time: 2:15 PM

Location: Science Center

Synopsis: Public Safety responded to the report of graffiti on the lid of a brochure box at the Science Center. The graffiti was removed. Matter under investigation.

Time: 10:27 PM

Location: Benjamin West House

Synopsis: Public Safety responded to an injured Swarthmore student who came to Benjamin West House. The student was evaluated and no further treatment was necessary.

Time: 5:23 PM

Location: Scott Arboretum

Synopsis: Public Safety responded to an intrusion alarm at the Scott Arboretum Office. lt was determined that the alarm was activated mistakenly.

Synopsis: Public Safety received information about a police incident happening at the Springfield Mall. An Awareness Bulletin was sent to the College community.

Location: Pearson Hall

Synopsis: While on patrol, Public Safety discovered several exterior lights not working. lt was determined that the bulbs in these fixtures had been broken. Facilities notified. Matter under investigation.

Date: Sunday, October 21, 2018

Time: 4:11 AM

Location: Chester Road

Synopsis: While on patrol, Public Safety discovered an unknown vehicle parked in the middle of Chester Road. The individual driving the vehicle would not respond. Swarthmore Police responded and moved the vehicle

off the road.
