SBC Minutes: (April 2, 2017) – Revised Requests and Spring Budgeting

LaunchDeck
LaunchDeck is a group that hosts hackathons and instructional workshops for students to explore mobile and web development. The group returned from last week’s meeting (26 March 2017) with more information regarding their proposal; they requested a total of $1250.00: $100.00 for group supplies (including stickers and adapters), $150.00 for food at hackathons and committee meetings, $200.00 for a banquet, and $795.00 for project fees (domains, software, etc.). The group’s request was outdated; two of the programs were priced for three months when there is only one month remaining in the semester. The revised request for funding was a total of $930.00 – one of the food events was also removed. There was a proposal for the revised total of $930.00, which passed unanimously.

The group returned from last week’s meeting (26 March 2017) with an itemized list of food for their study break. The total amount of funding requested was $31.03 for a variety of fruit, orange juice, and pita chips. Full funding was proposed and passed unanimously.

Women in Political Science (WiPS)
The group requested a total of $47.96 in funding: $14.97 for three pieces of construction paper for their Parrish board, $3.99 for a pack of colored paper, and $29.00 for a box of Insomnia cookies. The Office of Student Engagement had said they would not provide the group with funding for the construction or colored papers. Full funding was proposed and passed unanimously.

Spring Budgeting
The Committee discussed the logistics of spring budgeting 2017. They also discussed the food cap.
