Synopsis: Public Safety and Facilities responded to Wharton Residence Hall for the report of a power failure within the building. Matter is being investigated.

Criminal Mischief

Date: Monday, March 30
Time: 6:07 a.m.
Location: Willets Residence Hall
Synopsis: Public Safety responded to Willets Residence Hall for a report from a Swarthmore staff member about a fire extinguisher discharged in the lounge area. Upon arrival, Public Safety found that it was not a fire extinguisher, it appears to be soap powder. Matter under investigation.

Fire Alarm

Date: Monday, March 30
Time: 8:15 a.m.
Location: Worth Residence Hall
Synopsis: Public Safety responded to a fire alarm within Worth Residence Hall. Upon arrival, one student had evacuated the building, but no smoke or fire was observed. The reason for activation is unknown. Facilities was notified and the system was reset without incident.

Location: Sharples Dining Hall
Synopsis: Public Safety received a report from a Swarthmore resudent student regarding the theft of a bag containing several cameras from within Sharples Dining Hall. The approximate value of the bag and its contents is $1, 070. The matter is under investigation.

Synopsis: Public Safety Officers met with a College employee in reference to a theft of two parking signs from the Field House parking lot. The value of the signs is $1,400. Matter under investigation.

Location: Delta Upsilon Fraternity House
Synopsis: Public Safety and Facilities responded to Delta Upsilon Fraternity House for the report of vandalism to the property. Matter under investigation.

Fire Alarm

Date: Tuesday, March 31
Time: 3:55 p.m.
Location: Mertz Residence Hall
Synopsis: Public Safety and Facilities responded to a fire alarm within Mertz Residence Hall. Upon arrival, there was no sign of smoke or fire and the active detector could not be located. Facilities reset the alarm system without incident.

Synopsis: Public Safety received information pertaining to a student who had taken an excessive amount of over the counter medication. Officers responded and transported the student to Crozer Hospital for further evaluation and treatment.

Synopsis: Public Safety and Facilities responded to Mertz Residence Hall for a fire alarm. Upon arrival, it was determined that a faulty smoke detector was the cause of the alarm.

Synopsis: Public Safety responded to Clothier Hall for the theft of the “Essie Mae’s is OPEN” sign. The sign was located and returned.

Synopsis: Public Safety received a report from a College employee who was harassed by an unknown white male that was supporting the current sit-in by Swarthmore students in support of divestment. Matter under investigation.

Time: 6:38 p.m.
Location: Harvard Avenue
Synopsis: Public Safety and Swarthmore Police responded to a College-owned residence on Harvard Avenue for the report of a theft. Investigation determined that a key lockbox located outside of the residence had been broken into and a house key was removed. Facilities was notified. The matter is under investigation.

Synopsis: Public Safety received a report of a Swarthmore student being harassed by another Swarthmore student. The matter has been referred to the Title IX Coordinator.
