Bicycle Theft

Date: Monday, September 1st

Time: 9:21 a.m.

Location: Palmer Residence Hall

Synopsis: Public Safety received a report from a Swarthmore resident student regarding the theft of a bicycle from the exterior of Palmer Residence Hall. The theft occurred between June 1, 2014 and August 31, 2014. The value of the bicycle is approximately $50. The matter is under investigation.

Dorm Room Smoke Detector Alarm

Date: Monday, September 1st

Time: 10:18 p.m.

Location: Wharton Residence Hall

Synopsis: Public Safety responded to a smoke detector alarm within Wharton Residence Hall. Upon arrival, there was no sign of smoke or fire. It was determined the alarm was activated due to dust.

Status: Closed

Bicycle Theft

Date: Tuesday, September 2nd

Time: 9:36 a.m.

Location: Parrish Hall

Synopsis: Public Safety received a report from a Swarthmore resident student regarding the theft of a bicycle from the exterior of Parrish Hall. The value of the bicycle is $200. The matter is under investigation.

Time: 2:27 p.m.

Location: Pearson Hall

Synopsis: Public Safety responded to Pearson Hall for the report of a non-threatening but suspicious letter that was received from an unidentified sender via US mail. The matter is under investigation.

Date: Thursday, September 4th

Time: 3:39 a.m.

Location: Mary Lyons Residence Hall

Synopsis: Public Safety responded to a smoke detector alarm within Mary Lyons Residence Hall. Upon arrival, there was no sign of smoke or fire. It was determined the alarm was activated due to dust. Facilities was notified.

Date: Thursday, September 4th

Time: 8:14 a.m.

Location: Parrish Residence Hall

Synopsis: Public Safety, Swarthmore Police, and Ambulance responded to the exterior of Parrish Hall for the report os a Swarthmore resident student in need of medical assistance. The student was transported to the hospital.

Location: Book Store in Clothier

Synopsis: Public Safety responded to the Book Store within Clothier Hall for the report of two suspicious individuals. Upon arrival, the area was checked with negative results. Swarthmore Police were notified.

Date: Thursday, September 4th

Time: 11:02 p.m.

Location: Clothier Hall

Synopsis: Public Safety received a report from a Swarthmore resident student regarding the theft of a laptop and laptop case. The laptop was later found by the student.

Possession of a Liquid Malt Brew

Date: Friday, September 5th

Time: 12:17 a.m.

Location: Worth Residence Hall

Synopsis: Public Safety responded to Worth Residence Hall to transport an intoxicated Swarthmore resident student to the hospital.

Investigation Conditions

Date: Friday, September 5th

Time: 12:12 p.m.

Location: Crum Meadow

Synopsis: Public Safety responded to the Crum Meadow for the report of an unknown individual camping out in a tent in the woods. The tent was found and discarded.

Medical Emergency: Possession of a Liquid Malt Brew

Date: Saturday, September 6th

Time: 12:10 a.m.

Location: Mertz Residence Hall

Synopsis: Public Safety and Springfield Ambulance responded to Mertz Residence Hall for the report of an unconscious Swarthmore resident student. Upon arrival, it was determined that the student was intoxicated. The student was transported to the hospital via ambulance and Health Center staff were notified.

Medical Response: Possession of a Liquid Malt Brew

Date: Saturday, September 6th

Time: 12:45 a.m.

Location: Mertz Residence Hall

Synopsis: Public Safety responded to the Crum Meadow for the report of an intoxicated Swarthmore resident student. Upon arrival, officers determined that the student did not require medical assistance. The Health Center staff were notified. The matter has been referred to the Dean’s Office.

Criminal Trespass

Date: Saturday, September 6th

Time: 11:31 p.m.

Location: Clothier Hall

Synopsis: Public Safety responded to Clothier Hall for the report of several Swarthmore resident students on the rooftop. Upon arrival, the students climbed down from the rooftop and left without further incident. This information was forwarded to the Dean’s Office.

Fire Alarm

Date: Sunday, September 7th

Time: 12:35 a.m.

Location: Worth Residence Hall

Synopsis: Public Safety responded to a fire alarm within Worth Residence Hall. Upon arrival, excessive smoke was observed but there was no sign of fire. It was determined the alarm was activated due to cooking.

Date: Sunday, September 7th

Time: 1:02 a.m.

Location: Clothier Hall

Synopsis: Public Safety responded to Clothier Hall for the report of a Swarthmore resident student in need of medical assistance. The student was transported to the hospital. The Health Center staff were notified.

Dating Violence: Forcible Fondling

Date: Sunday, September 7th

Time: 2:17 a.m.

Location: Clothier Hall

Synopsis: Public Safety received a report of a possible sexual assault that occurred on campus on 9/6/14. The incident involved a non-Swarthmore student and a Swarthmore resident student. The matter is under investigation.

    I guess on the bright side it’s being reported?
