Fire Alarm

Date: Monday, October 28
Time: 9:55-10:07 a.m.
Location: Roberts Residence Hall
Synopsis: Public Safety and Facilities responded to a fire alarm within Roberts Residence Hall. The area was checked and there was no sign of smoke or fire. It could not be determined what activated the alarm and the alarm was reset.
Status: Closed

 

Harassment By Communication

Date: Monday, October 28
Time: 9:36-9:58 a.m.
Location: McCabe Library
Synopsis: Public Safety responded to McCabe Library for the report of a Swarthmore staff member receiving a disturbing voicemail and email from a known individual. This matter is associated with a previous case. The matter is under investigation.

Time: 11:03-11:12 a.m.
Location: Parrish Hall
Synopsis: Public Safety and Facilities responded to a fire alarm within Parrish Hall. There was no sign of smoke or fire. It was determined that the alarm was activated by dust generated from contractors.

Location: Parrish Hall
Synopsis: Public Safety was dispatched to identify a film crew that was on campus without permission and instructed them of proper protocol for filming on campus. One student and the filmmaker were identified by Public Safety. The matter is under investigation.

Location: Roberts Residence Hall
Synopsis: Public Safety and Facilities responded to a fire alarm within Roberts Residence Hall. The building was checked. There was no sign of smoke or fire. It was not determined what caused the activation of the alarm. Facilities is investigating the problem.

Date: Wednesday, October 30
Time: 1:15-1:23 p.m.
Location: Kohlberg Hall
Synopsis: Public Safety responded to Kohlberg Hall for the report of an unconscious male resident student. The student was unconscious upon arrival. The student came to shortly thereafter and was escorted to Clothier Snack Bar.

Date: Wednesday, October 30
Time: 1:00 a.m.
Location: Swarthmore College Campus
Synopsis: A female student reported a sexual assault by a known male via the online Clery Crime reporting webpage. The matter is under investigation

Time: 3:00 p.m.
Location: College Avenue
Synopsis: A Resident Assistant reported to the Interim Title IX Coordinator that a sexual assault was reported. The date, time, respondent and location is known at this time. The matter is under investigation.

Time: 6:15 p.m.
Location: Parrish Hall
Synopsis: A Resident Assistant reported to a Dean that a student reported to them that they were sexually assaulted. The individual also reported that it was previously reported. The location, date, time, complainant and respondent is unknown at this time. The incident was reported as occurring two years ago. The matter is under investigation.

Location: Swarthmore College Campus
Synopsis: A Resident Assistant reported to a Dean that a female resident student reported to them that they were sexually assaulted by a current student, name unknown. The location, date, time or victim is unknown at this time. Matter under investigation.

Location: Willets Residence Hall
Synopsis: Public Safety responded to Willets Resident Hall for a report of an individual on the roof. The individual was gone upon arrival. This information has been forwarded to Residential Life.

Criminal Mischief

Date: Friday, November 1
Time: 1:37 a.m.
Location: Parrish Hall
Synopsis: Public Safety observed writing on the outside of the door to WSRN. Facilities was notified. The matter is under investigation.

Date: Saturday, November 2
Time:  4:10-4:18 p.m.
Location: Ashton House
Synopsis: Public Safety responded to a fire alarm within Ashton House. The area was checked and there was no sign of smoke or fire. It was determined that the cause of the alarm was steam from boiling water. The alarm was reset.

Date: Saturday, November 2
Time: 2:50-3:10 p.m.
Location: Whittier Meeting House
Synopsis: Public Safety, Swarthmore Police and Medics responded to the report of two individuals injured at the Whittier Meeting House. The individuals were identified as non Swarthmore persons.

Location: Chester Road
Synopsis: Public Safety received information from Swarthmore Police Department regarding a report of a Swarthmore student involved in an off-campus incident. The matter is under investigation.

Location: Dupont Lot
Synopsis: Public Safety responded to Dupont Lot for the report of several juveniles with BB guns. Upon arrival, the four juveniles were identified as Strath Haven High School students filming a school project with fake plastic guns. The individuals were instructed about proper protocol for filming on campus.

Synopsis: Public Safety responded to Clothier Hall for the report of an unknown individual. Upon arrival the individual was gone and the exterior and interior of the building were checked with negative results. The information will be kept on file for future reference.

Location: Sharples Dining Hall
Synopsis: Public Safety responded to a report of flooding in the basement of Sharples Dining Hall. The cause of flooding is under investigation. Damage was observed and photos are on file for future reference.
