Medical Emergency

Date:  Monday, October 7
Time:  11:36 a.m.-12:17 p.m.
Location:  Worth Health Center
Synopsis:  Public Safety and Swarthmore Police and Ambulance responded to Worth Health Center to transport a female resident student to Springfield Hospital.
Status: Cleared

 

Harassment by Communication/Sexual Harassment

Date:  Tuesday, October 8
Time:  10:23 p.m.
Location:  500 College Ave.
Synopsis:  A student reported Sexual Harassment by email to the Interim Title IX Coordinator. The matter is under investigation.
Status: Investigation

 

Medical Response

Date:  Tuesday, October 8
Time:  7:20-7:35 p.m.
Location:  Pearson Hall
Synopsis:  Public Safety responded to Pearson Hall for a report of an unconscious male resident student. The student was conscious after arrival and escorted to the BCC.
Status: Cleared

 

Harassment By Communication

Date:  Wednesday, October 9
Time:  1:01-1:20 a.m.
Location:  Mertz Residence Hall
Synopsis:  A female resident student contacted Public Safety about threats she received via Facebook and social media. The matter is under investigation.
Status: Investigation

 

Noise Complaint

Date:  Wednesday, October 9
Time:  1:40 a.m.
Location:  Rear of DU
Synopsis:  Public Safety responded to the exterior of Delta Upsilon Lodge for the report of loud noises. Upon evaluation, it was determined to be animals.
Status: Cleared

 

Sexual Misconduct

Date:  Wednesday, October 9
Location:  Swarthmore College Campus
Synopsis:  A Resident Assistant reported that a female resident student experiences sexual misconduct by a known male resident student sometime during the 2012-2013 academic year. No additional information is known at this time.
Status: Investigation

 

Fire Alarm

Date:  Thursday, October 10
Time:  4:25-4:35 a.m.
Location:  Parrish Hall
Synopsis:  Public Safety responded to a fire alarm within Parrish Hall. The building evacuated. There was no sign of smoke or fire. It was determined that smoking may have been the cause of the alarm.
Status: Cleared

 

Investigation

Date: Thursday, October 10
Time:  4:44-4:55 p.m.
Location:  Beardsley Hall
Synopsis:  Public Safety responded to meet with a Faculty Member regarding a situation of unknown usage of a room within Beardsley. The matter is under investigation

Fire Alarm

Date:  Friday, October 11
Time:  10:50-11:03 a.m.
Location:  Worth Residence Hall
Synopsis:  Public Safety responded to a fire alarm within Worth Residence Hall. There was no smoke or fire. It was determined that the alarm was activated from steam within the bathroom. Facilities and Public Safety Director were notified.
Status: Cleared

 

Panic Button Alert

Date:  Friday, October 11
Time:  3:55-4:03 p.m.
Location:  Pearson Hall
Synopsis:  Public Safety received a panic alarm within Pearson Hall. It was determined that the alarm was mistakenly activated.
Status: Cleared

 

Marijuana Possession 

Date:  Saturday, October 12
Time:  12:23-1:30 a.m.
Location:  Parrish Hall
Synopsis:  Public Safety responded to Parrish Hall for a male resident student in need of medical assistance. Upon arrival, the student was evaluated and referred to the Dean’s Office for marijuana usage.
Status: Dean’s Referral

 

Fire Alarm

Date:  Saturday, October 12
Time:  2:15-2:26 p.m.
Location:  Woolman Residence Hall
Synopsis:  Public Safety responded to a fire alarm within Woolman Residence Hall. The building was evacuated. There was no sign of fire. The alarm was activated due to burnt food and smoke was observed. The smoke was cleared and the alarm reset.
Status: Cleared

 

Investigation

Date:  Sunday, October 13
Time:  8:51-9:07 p.m.
Location:  Septa Station
Synopsis:  Public Safety observed a silver car with two occupants take a bike from SEPTA Train Station and place it in the trunk of the car. Public Safety notified Swarthmore Police Department. Upon Swarthmore Police Department’s identifying the individuals, it was determined that the bike belonged to the occupants of the vehicle.
Status: Cleared

Location:  Worth Residence Hall
Synopsis:  Public Safety responded to a fire alarm within Worth Residence Hall. the building was evacuated. There was no sign of fire. the alarm was activated due to burnt food and smoke was observed. The smoke was cleared and the alarm was reset.
Status: Cleared

Location:  Wharton Resident Hall
Synopsis:  Public Safety responded to a fire alarm within Wharton Residence Hall. The building was evacuated. The alarm was activated due to burnt food. The alarm was reset.
