Criminal Mischief

Date:  Monday, September 16
Time:  9:53-11:23 a.m.
Location:  Fieldhouse Lane
Synopsis:  Facilities staff notified Public Safety of vandalism to the sign at the south entrance of the College. the matter is under investigation.
Status: Investigation

 

Suspicious Odor

Date:  Monday, September 16
Time:  2:15-3:05 p.m.
Location:  Science Center
Synopsis:  Public Safety responded to the Science Center for a report of a gas smell. Investigation determined that there was a chemical spill located in a lab. There was no sign of smoke or fire. Facilities and Environmental Health & Safety responded.
Status: Cleared

 

Fire Alarm

Date:  Wednesday, September 18
Time:  8:07-8:16 a.m.
Location:  Worth Residence Hall
Synopsis:  Public Safety and Facilities responded to a fire alarm within Worth Residence Hall. There was no smoke or fire. The cause of the alarm was due to steam from the bathroom.
Status: Cleared

 

Criminal Mischief

Date:  Wednesday, September 18
Time:  11:00 a.m.
Location:  101 South Chester Road
Synopsis:  A College employee reported to Public Safety vandalism in the parking lot of 101 S. Chester Road. Investigation determined that the parking space had been repainted. No further action.
Status: Inactive

 

Fire Alarm

Date:  Wednesday, September 18
Time:  9:48-10:00 a.m.
Location:  Worth Residence Hall
Synopsis:  Public Safety and Facilities responded to a fire alarm within Worth Residence Hall. The building evacuated. There was no smoke or fire. The cause of the alarm was due to steam from the bathroom.
Status: Cleared

 

Medical Response

Date:  Wednesday, September 18
Time:  1:22-1:36 p.m.
Location:  Parrish North Walkway
Synopsis:  Public Safety responded to the report of a male resident student in need of medical assistance and was observed to be unconscious on Parrish North Walkway.
Status: Cleared

 

Criminal Mischief/Harassment by Communication

Date:  Wednesday, September 18
Time:  8:03 p.m.
Location:  McCabe Library
Synopsis:  A female student observed markings of a harassing nature in spray paint on a door within McCabe Library second floor women’s stall. Public Safety and Facilities responded. The matter is under investigation.
Status: Investigation

Safety Hazard

Date:  Wednesday, September 18
Time:  10:47 p.m.
Location:  Pittenger Residence Hall
Synopsis:  While on routine patrol, Public Safety observed a refrigerator on the fire escape at Pittenger Residence Hall. Facilities was notified to remove the refrigerator.
Status: Cleared

 

Medical Emergency

Date:  Thursday, September 19
Time:  7:10-7:50 p.m.
Location:  Parrish Hall
Synopsis:  Public Safety responded to Parrish Hall for the report of a sick female resident student. Upon evaluation, the student was transported to Springfield Hospital.
Status: Cleared

 

Fire Alarm

Date:  Thursday, September 19
Time:  9:25-10:19 p.m.
Location:  Bond Memorial-Academic
Synopsis:  Public Safety responded to a fire alarm within Bond Memorial Hall. While checking the building, smoke was observed. The building evacuated and Swarthmore Fire Department and Facilities were notified. Numerous Fire Departments responded and the building was checked. The source of smoke could not be located.
Status: Cleared

 

Medical Emergency

Date:  Thursday, September 19
Time:  5:41-6:10 p.m.
Location:  Dana Residence Hall
Synopsis:  Public Safety responded to Dana Residence Hall for an injured female resident student. Upon evaluation, Swarthmore Ambulance and Police were dispatched to transport the student to the hospital.
Status: Cleared

 

Fire Alarm

Date:  Friday, September 20
Time:  2:26 a.m.
Location:  Willets Residence Hall
Synopsis:  While responding to a smoke detector activation, Public Safety smelled burning plastic. Upon evaluation, it was determined that food had been cooked in a plastic wrapper. There was no sign of smoke or fire.
Status: Cleared

 

Criminal Mischief/Harassment by Communication

Date:  Saturday, September 21st
Time:  11:54 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
Location:  Clothier Fields
Synopsis:  A female student reported a sign of a harassing nature. Upon further investigation, it was determined the communication was not to be directed in a harassing manner.
Status: Cleared

 

Medical Emergency

Date:  Sunday, September 22
Time:  12:26-1:23 a.m.
Location:  Phi Psi Fraternity House
Synopsis:  While on patrol, Public Safety received a report of an injured visiting female student within Phi Psi Fraternity House. Swarthmore Police and Ambulance responded and transported the student to Springfield Hospital.
Status: Cleared

 

Simple Assault (Not Aggravated)/Pur., Con., Poss., Trans., Liq. Malt Brew

Date:  Sunday, September 22
Time:  12:30-1:00 a.m.
Location:  Phi Psi Fraternity House
Synopsis:  While on patrol, a male resident student reported to Public Safety that while performing party associate duties within Phi Psi House he was assaulted by another male resident student. The matter is under investigation.
Status: Dean’s Refferal

Synopsis:  While on patrol, an individual reported to Public Safety an aggressive driver near the Science Center.
