Fire Alarm

Date: Sunday, August 25
Time: 9:35 -9:46 a.m.
Location: Black Cultural Center
Synopsis: Public Safety and Facilities responded to a fire alarm within the Black Cultural Center. The building was cleared and checked. There was no sign of smoke or fire. The alarm was reset.
Status: Closed

 

Harassment by Communication

Time: 2:00-2:20 p.m.
Location: Clothier Hall
Synopsis: A staff member reported receiving disturbing text messages.  Matter under investigation.

Safety Hazard

Time: 8:35 p.m.
Location: Worth Residence Hall
Synopsis: Public Safety received a report from Harrison Electric that tape was covering smoke detectors, creating a safety hazard, in Worth Residence Hall. The tape was removed. Facilities and Dean’s office were notified.

Synopsis: A female student reported behaviors of sexual harassment while living abroad for the fall academic semester of 2012. Matter under investigation.

Medical Emergency

Time: 10:13-10:33 p.m.
Location: Wharton Residence Hall
Synopsis: Public Safety, Swarthmore Police Department and Ambulance responded to the Wharton Residence Hall Courtyard for a report of an individual experiencing an allergic reaction and difficulty breathing. Upon evaluation, the student was transported to the hospital.

Synopsis: Public Safety, Swarthmore Police Department and Ambulance responded to Ware Pool for a report of a sick student. Upon evaluation, the student was transported to the hospital.

Forcible Fondling

Synopsis: A staff member reported to Public Safety that a male resident student reported to her that he was forcibly fondled by a known male student. This possibly occurred sometime during the 2007-2008 academic year. At this time, there is no additional information known about the date, time or location of the incident. Matter under investigation.

Synopsis: Public Safety received information from a staff member in reference to a sexual assault involving two known male resident students which possibly occurred during the 2010-2011 academic year. Synopsis: Public Safety responded to Dana Residence Hall for the distribution of unauthorized handouts. Matter under investigation.

Location: Lang Performing Arts Center
Synopsis: Public Safety received an email from the Theater Department in Lang Performing Arts Center about the Theft of a mannequin. The value of the mannequin is 500 dollars. The matter is under investigation.

Synopsis: A Swarthmore resident student came to Public Safety to report the theft of two bikes from the Bike Share program. The bike rack is located behind Parrish Hall.  The value of the bikes is 500 dollars. The matter is under investigation.

Location: Delta Upsilon Fraternity House
Synopsis: Public Safety responded to a fire alarm within Delta Upsilon Fraternity House. Upon arrival, it was determined that a resident student had discharged a bug bomb and that was the cause of the alarm. The building was cleared and there was no sign of fire.
