New Rule: No Outside Food or Glass Bottles Allowed at Pub Nite

September 1, 2011

Editor’s note: This article was initially published in The Daily Gazette, Swarthmore’s online, daily newspaper founded in Fall 1996. As of Fall 2018, the DG has merged with The Phoenix. See the about page to read more about the DG.

The e-mail announcing this Thursday’s Pub Nite, sponsored by the Drug and Alcohol Resource Team, also included the new rules governing what people can bring into Paces. The rule was described as follows:

No outside food or glass containers of any kind will be permitted in Paces during Pub Night. This rule will be strictly enforced every Thursday for the rest of the school year. To clarify, this means: no chicken tenders, no honey mustard, no fruit snacks etc. Paces staff will provide sterilized plastic liter-sized water bottles for liquids brought in to the space in glass bottles. Failure to comply will result in confiscation of food and glass bottles. This rule is being enforced to maintain the safety and well-being of the Swarthmore community.
