How Swat Groups Serve YOU

October 2, 2007

Editor’s note: This article was initially published in The Daily Gazette, Swarthmore’s online, daily newspaper founded in Fall 1996. As of Fall 2018, the DG has merged with The Phoenix. See the about page to read more about the DG.

With over 50 clubs and organizations at Swarthmore and a $1.3 billion endowment, we figure that at least a few would have cool things to share with the rest of campus. Below is a tentative list of equipment, supplies, and services offered by various groups on campus. If you’d like to add your group resources to the list, please e-mail ukhan1@swarthmore.edu.

Outsider’s Club: Backpacking tents, backpacking stove and cookware, backpacking pack (1), Coleman camping stove, climbing equipment (harnesses, carabiners, rope, Bouldering crash pad, etc), snowshoes (1). A deposit may be required to borrow more expensive equipment.

  1. Wow, that information about the media lounge and video pit is outdated. (No offense, Urooj, we just need to update our site!) In the pit, we still have the old consoles, but we also have an Xbox 360, a Wii on the way, and more.

In the media lounge, we have six linux workstations and two honking great macs, one for photo editing and printing and one for video editing. They are also available and useful for other things, but those are their specialties.

    You all should come down!

  2. Yeah, the SCCS stuff is pretty awesome. I actually ought to make use of it more often; it would be nice to watch a movie there sometime, at least.
