Synopsis: Public Safety responded to an intrusion alarm in Parrish Hall. It was determined that the alarm was activated by a Swarthmore employee.

Investigation of Condition(s)

Date: Tuesday, November 20, 2018

Time: 8:47 AM

Location: Danawell Residence Hall

Synopsis: Public Safety responded to the report of an inappropriate sign outside a student room in Danawell Residence Hall. Investigation determined that the sign belonged to the resident and they removed it without incident. Appropriate offices were advised.

Fire Alarm

Date: Thursday, November 22, 2018

Time: 7:03 P.M

Location: Hallowell Residence Hall

Synopsis: Public Safety responded to a fire alarm in Hallowell Residence Hall. There was smoke but no fire. It was determined that the alarm was activated due to cooking.

HARASSMENT-COMM/REPEATED

Date: Wednesday, November 21, 2018

Time: 5:01 PM

Location: SEPTA Train Station

Synopsis: Public Safety received a report from a Swarthmore employee who reports that their college phone is being used for unauthorized phone calls. Matter under investigation.

Location: Lang Performing Arts Center

Synopsis: Public Safety responded to an intrusion alarm in Lang Performing Arts Center. lt was determined that the alarm was activated by staff members opening the List Gallery.

Power Failure

Date: Friday, November 23, 2018

Time: 2:41 PM

Location: Swarthmore College Campus

Synopsis: Swarthmore College campus experienced a power outage. Facilities responded. No incidents reported due to outage.

Fire Alarm

Date: Friday, November 23, 2018

Time: 2:50 PM

Location: Cornell Library Addition

Synopsis: Public Safety responded to a fire alarm in Cornell Library. There was no smoke or fire. It was determined that the alarm was activated due to the campus wide power outage.

Institutional Vandalism

Date: Monday, November 26, 2018

Time: 2:35 AM

Location: Worth Residence Hall

Synopsis: While on patrol, Public Safety discovered vandalism in two locations in Worth Residence Hall. The value of the damage is not known at this time. Matter under investigation.
