Fire Alarm

Date: Monday, September 15

Time: 10:48am

Location: Lower Level Mech Room

Synopsis: Public Safety and Facilities responded to a fire alarm within the Cornell Library Addition. All occupants of the building had evacuated prior to their arrival. It was determined that the alarm was activated due to steam.

Status: Closed

 

Vehicle Accident

Date: Monday, September 15

Time: 11:48am

Location: Service Building

Synopsis:  Public Safety responded to the Service Building for the report of an accident involving two college owned-vehicles. No injuries reported.

Status: Closed

 

Forcible Fondling

Date: Monday, September 15

Time: 2:08pm

Location: Swarthmore College Campus

Synopsis: On 9/14/14 Public Safety received an online Clery report about a forcible fondling that occured on campus in October 2013 and May 2014 by a known male resident student against an undentified female resident student. The matter is under investigation.

Theft/Interior Buildings

Date: Monday, September 15

Time: 2:25pm

Location: Sproul Observatory

Synopsis: Public Safety responded to the Communications Office within Sproul Observatory for the report of the theft of a DVD. The DVD is valued at $15.99. The matter is under investigation.

Medical Response

Date: Monday, September 15

Time: 7:49pm

Location: Lamb Miller Field House

Synopsis: Public Safety responded to the Fieldhouse for the report of a Swarthmore resident student in need of medical assistance. The student declined medical treatment. Public Safety escorted the student to Wharton Residence Hall.

Synopsis: Public Safety responded to McCabe Library for the report of an unknown individual. Upon arrival, the individual was identified as a visitor that was authorized to use the library.

Time: 4:19am

Location: Dana Residence Hall

Synopsis: Public Safety responded to Dana Hall for the report of a Swarthmore resident student in need of medical assistance. The student was transported to the hospital. Health Center Staff were notified.

Fire Alarm

Date: Tuesday, September 16

Time: 10:08am

Location: Worth Residence Hall

Synopsis: Public Safety and Facilities responded to a fire alarm within Worth Residence Hall. Upon arrival, there was no sign of smoke of fire. Facilities determined that a faulty detector head caused the alarm to activate.

Location: Papazian Hall

Synopsis: Public Safety responded to Papazian Hall for the report from a Swarthmore Professor about possible unknown activity on his computer. It was later determined that the activity had been authorized by the Professor.

Time: 3:53pm

Location: Worth Health Center

Synopsis: Public Safety and Swarthmore Ambulance responded to Worth Health Center for a resident Swarthmore student. The student was transported to the hospital.

Location: Phi Psi Fraternity House

Synopsis: Public Safety responded to Phi PSi Fraternity for the report of an intoxicated Swarthmore resident student. Upon arrival, it was determined that the student did not require medical assistance and to return to another student’s room. This matter has been referred to the Dean’s Office.

Synopsis: Public Safety responded to Parrish East Circle for the report of an ill Swarthmore student. The student was transported to Worth Health Center.

Synopsis: Public Safety responded to a fire alarm within Willets Residence Hall. There was no sign of fire and smoke was ventilated. It was determined that the alarm was activated due to cooking.

Location: Off Campus Location

Synopsis: Public Safety received a report from a Swarthmore resident student about another Swarthmore resident student engaging in harassment  by communication via text messages. This matter is under investigation.

Time: 6:16am

Location: Willets Residence Hall

Synopsis: Public Safety responded to Willets Residence Hall for a fire alarm. The building evacuated. There was no sign of smoke or fire. Upon evaluation, there was no causes for the alarm activation. Facilities notified.

Synopsis: Public Safety responded to Wharton Residence Hall for the report of an intoxicated Swarthmore resident student. Upon arrival, it was determined that the student did not require medical assistance and agreed to return to another student’s room. This matter has been referred to the Dean’s Office.

Public Drunkenness

Fire Alarm

Date: Sunday, September 21

Time: 3:03am

Location: Worth Residence Hall

Synopsis: Public Safety responded to Worth Residence Hall for the report of fire alarm. Upon arrival it was determined that the alarm was activated due to a cooking mishap caused in part by a moderately intoxicatd [sic] Swarthmore resident student. This matter has been referred to the Dean’s Office.
