Criminal Mischief

Date: Monday, April 7
Time: 12:15 p.m.
Location: Crum Meadow
Synopsis: Public Safety received a report via email regarding several bird feeders that had been vandalized. The bird feeders were placed in the Crum Woods by Swarthmore students as part of a biology project.
Status: Closed

Panic Button Alert

Date: Monday, April 7
Time: 4:31-4:40 p.m.
Location: Parrish Hall
Synopsis: Public Safety responded to a panic alarm within Parrish Hall. Upon arrival, it was determined that a staff member had activated the alarm accidentally.
Status: Closed

 

Criminal Mischief

Date: Wednesday, April 9
Time: 2:43-3:00 p.m.
Location: Squash Courts
Synopsis: Public Safety responded to the report of students climbing on the steel beams of the Matchbox structure to write on the beams. Photos taken of graffiti. The matter is under investigation.

Medical Emergency

Date: Friday, April 11
Time: 12:52-1:23 p.m.
Location: Papazian Hall
Synopsis: Public Safety, Swarthmore Police and Ambulance responded to the exterior of Papazian Hall for the report of a staff member in need of medical attention. the staff member was transported to the hospital.

Time: 1:40 p.m.
Location: Papazian Hall
Synopsis: Public Safety responded to the exterior of Papazian for the report of an accident. The matter is under investigation.

Synopsis: Public Safety responded to McCabe Library for the report of a series of suspicious telephone calls. The matter is under investigation.

Noise Complaint

Date: Saturday, April 12
Time: 12:26-12:34 a.m.
Location: Worth Residence Hall
Synopsis: Public Safety responded to Worth Courtyard for a noise complaint. Upon arrival, a group of Swarthmore students were playing wiffle ball. Public Safety advised the students to be considerate of the noise level.

Fire Alarm

Date: Saturday, April 12
Time: 3:28-3:44 p.m.
Location: David Kemp Residence Hall
Synopsis: Public Safety responded to a fire alarm within David Kemp Residence Hall. Upon arrival, the building was evacuated and it was determined that a resident student had been cooking and activated the alarm. The smoke had cleared and there was no sign of fire. Officers reset the alarm panel without incident.

Synopsis: Public Safety responded to lang performing arts center for the report of students consuming alcohol int he lobby. Upon arrival, the area was checked with negative results.

Location: Outdoor Area/Fraternity Houses
Synopsis: Public Safety, Swarthmore Police and Ambulance responded to Olde Club for the report of a Bryn Mawr student in need of medical attention. The student was transported to the hospital.

Theft/From Motor Vehicle

Date: Sunday, April 13
Time: 3:20-3:32 p.m.
Location: Off Campus Location
Synopsis: Public Safety received a report from a Swarthmore student regarding the theft of a bookbag from a College vehicle. The theft occurred at an off campus location. The value of the bookbag and its contents is $200. The matter is under investigation.

Fire Alarm

Date: Sunday, April 13
Time: 10:01-10:44
Location: Mertz Residence Hall
Synopsis: Public Safety responded to a fire alarm within Mertz Residence Hall. Upon arrival, the officers observed smoke in the kitchen and opened the windows to ventilate the area. There was no sign of fire. It was determined that the alarm had been activated due to unattended cooking.
Status: Investigation
