Synopsis:  Swarthmore Police Department requested Public Safety to rope off the area near the falls due to flood water conditions.

Synopsis: Public Safety responded to the report of a male student in need of medical assistance in Sharples Dining Hall. Upon arrival, Public Safety evaluated the student and the student refused further treatment.

Synopsis:  Public Safety responded to the report from a resident of Morganwood Circle that there were individuals going house to house. The individuals were identified and were informed that there is no soliciting on college property. They left without incident.

Location: SEPTA Train Station
Synopsis:  Swarthmore Police reported that a secured bicycle was taken from the SEPTA train station. The value of the bicycle is $600. The matter is under investigation.

Location:  Mertz Residence Hall
Synopsis:  Public Safety responded to the report of a disoriented student outside of Mertz Residence Hall. The student was identified and evaluated for intoxication. The matter was referred to the Deans’ Office.

Location:  Phi Si Fraternity House
Synopsis:  While on routine patrol, Public Safety observed an unauthorized group within Phi Si Fraternity House. Contact was made with the host and the individuals were dispersed.

Synopsis:  Public Safety responded to Essie Mae’s Snack Bar for the report of a theft of a backpack. 9/9 update: The student notified Public Safety that the backpack was found.

Synopsis:  A Swarthmore community member reported a safety hazard with the scaffolding around Clothier Hall. The contractors and facilities were notified.

Location: Bond Lodges-Residential
Synopsis:  A staff member reported vandalism to the lower level of the Bond Lodges. This damage was reported to them by a Resident Advisor.

Location:  Mertz Residence Hall
Synopsis:  Public Safety, Swarthmore Police Department and an ambulance responded to Mertz Residence Hall for an intoxicated Swarthmore resident student. The student was transported to the hospital and cited by the Swarthmore Police Department for underage drinking. Matter referred to the Deans’ Office.

Synopsis:  Public Safety received a report that a Swarthmore male resident student made terroristic threats toward another Swarthmore male resident student. The matter is under investigation and has been referred to the Deans’ Office.

Location:  SEPTA Train Station
Synopsis:  Public Safety received a report from a male student of the theft of a secured bicycle from the SEPTA train station. Swarthmore Police Department responded. The value of the bicycle is $350. The matter is under investigation.

Fire Alarm

Date:  Sunday, September 8
Time:  2:40-3:00 p.m.
Location:  Mertz Residence Hall
Synopsis:  Public Safety responded to a fire alarm within Mertz Residence Hall. There was no smoke or fire. A short time later, the alarm sounded again and it was determined that there was a faulty detector. Facilities was notified and responded.
Status: Cleared

Synopsis:  Public Safety received a report that a Swarthmore male resident student assaulted another male resident student. The matter is under investigation and has been referred to the Deans’ Office.
