Fire Alarm

Date: Monday, April 8
Time: 3:46-4:00 p.m.
Location: Lang Performing Arts Center
Synopsis: Public Safety responded to a fire alarm within LPAC. The building was evacuated. Upon investigation, there was no sign of smoke or fire. The alarm was reset and occupants we cleared to back into the building.

Synopsis: A male resident student reported being forcibly fondled by a known individual. No additional information about the time, date, or location are available at this time. Matter forwarded to Title IX Coordinator.

Sexual Assault

Date: Tuesday, March 9
Time: 8:37 a.m.
Location: Swarthmore College
Synopsis: Title  IX Coordinator Sharmaine LaMar reported that a female resident student reported to her that she was sexually assaulted by a known male during the fall semester. No additional information about the date, time or location are available at this time. Matter under investigation.

Suspicious Odor

Time: 11:13 p.m.
Location: Wharton Residence Hall
Synopsis: Public Safety responded to a suspicious odor within Wharton Residence Hall. The source of the odor was not determined.

Theft

Date: Sunday, April 4-Monday, April 5
Time: 10:30 p.m.-8:30 a.m.
Location: Clothier Hall
Synopsis: An Essie Mae’s “open sign” was stolen. The value of this sign is approximately $280. Matter under investigation.

Sexual Assault Report

Date: Wednesday, April 10
Time: 8:23 a.m.
Location: Swarthmore College
Synopsis: A male resident student reported that a female resident student reported to him that she was sexually assaulted last fall by a known individual. No additional information about the location, date or time are known at this time. Matter referred to Title IX Coordinator.

Time: 12:00 a.m. Sunday-5:30 p.m. Monday
Location: Sharples Drive
Synopsis: A staff member reported harassing communication by an unknown individual. Matter under investigation.

Time: 9:35-10:20 a.m.
Location: Mertz Residence Hall
Synopsis: Public Safety responded to a medical call for a non-student. Swarthmore medics responded and evaluated.
Status: Cleared

Location: Lamb Miller Field House
Synopsis: Public Safety responded to the field house for a sick female student. Swarthmore ambulance responded and transported the student to the hospital for further evaluation.

Synopsis: Public Safety responded for a male student requesting medical evaluation. The student was transported to Worth Health Center for further evaluation.

Synopsis: A staff member reported receiving several phone calls from an alum requesting personal information for other alumni. Information was not supplied and a report was forwarded to the appropriate department.

Synopsis: A non-student male requested medical assistance. Public Safety and a Swarthmore ambulance responded. The individual was transported to the hospital for further evaluation.

Location: Women’s Resource Center
Synopsis: A Public Safety officer responded to the Women’s Resource Center for two consecutive fire alarms due to cooking. No fire was observed. The area was cleared of smoke and the alarm was reset.

Time: 2:32 p.m.
Location: Sharples #3/ Kitao Gallery
Synopsis: While responding to a fire alarm, Public Safety officers observed furniture obstructing access to the fire panel. Obstruction was removed and the fire panel was reset.

Time: 4:09-4:22 p.m.
Location: Wharton Residence Hall
Synopsis: A Public Safety Officer Responded to Wharton Residence Hall courtyard for loud music. Upon arrival, several individuals were observed singing and Public Safety requested that the volume be lowered.

Location: Hallowell Residence
Synopsis: A female resident student reported an unknown male was observed within a residence hall. Public Safety responded and the individual could not be located.
