Synopsis: A staff member reported that a male resident student reported being assaulted by another male resident student based upon his sexual orientation. This report is currently under investigation and was reported to the Title IX Coordinator.
Status: Investigation

 

Harassment by Communication

Synopsis: A staff member reported that a male resident student reported to her that he was being harassed by a female resident student via text messages. Matter under investigation.

Medical Response 

Date: Monday, March 4
Time: 3:50 p.m.
Location: Morganwood Development
Synopsis: Swarthmore Police Department was dispatched to Morgan Circle for lifting assistance. A resident had fallen from a chair and needed help standing up. Public Safety assisted and medical assistance was refused at this time.
Status: Cleared

Bike Theft

Location: Lamb Miller Field House
Synopsis: A resident student reported to Public Safety that their bicycle is missing from a bike rack at the field house. A report was taken and the matter is under investigation.

Suspicious Odor  

Date: Tuesday, March 5
Time: 3:28 p.m.
Location: Parrish Hall
Synopsis: A student reported a burning smell on the 3rd floor of Parrish. Area was checked, slight odor of incense was present. All rooms were checked, no problems found, smell dissipated.
Status: Cleared

 

Investigation of Vehicles 

Date: Tuesday, March 5
Time: 4:01 p.m.
Location: Dupont Lot
Synopsis: Officers responded to the report of a suspicious vehicle parked in the Dupont lot. Upon arrival the officers observed the vehicle leaving campus. No further action required.
Status: Cleared

 

Medical Emergency   

Date: Tuesday, March 5
Time: 11:22 p.m.
Location: Parrish Hall
Synopsis: Public Safety Officers and EMS responded to Parrish Hall to investigate the report of a student in need of medical assistance. Upon evaluation it was determined that the student should be transported to the hospital for further treatment.
Status: Clear

 

Indecent Exposure

Synopsis: A male resident student reported that a female resident student indecently exposed herself to him. Matter under investigation.

Fire Alarm  

Date: Thursday, March 7
Time: 9:27 p.m.
Location: Wharton Residence Hall
Synopsis: A fire alarm was received from within Wharton Residence Hall. The cause of the alarm was burnt food. The smoke was cleared and the fire alarm was reset.
Status: Cleared

Time: 10:40 p.m.
Location: Trotter Hall
Synopsis: While on patrol, Public Safety observed students in the building participating in an unauthorized laser tag game. Students were requested to leave the area, and they complied without incident.
Status: Cleared

 

Fire Hazard   

Date: Saturday, March 9
Time: 12:03 a.m.
Location: Parrish Hall
Synopsis: While on patrol, Public Safety found an oven turned on and left unattended. The oven was turned off and Public Safety resumed patrol. This information has been forwarded to the appropriate individuals.
Status: Cleared

 

Theft

Time: 12-4 p.m.
Location: Lang Performing Arts Center
Synopsis: A female resident student reported the theft of a laptop from a hallway within Lang Performing Arts Center. The student declined police involvement at the time of this report. The value of the laptop is approximately $1,500.

Time: 3:33 p.m.
Location: Fieldhouse Lane
Synopsis: While on campus patrol, a Public Safety Officer observed four juveniles skateboarding on campus and upon approach the individuals fled the area. One of the skateboards was left behind and it was later returned to the owner. The owner was advised about College policy concerning skateboarding on campus.

Synopsis: A box of t-shirts from the Clothesline Project is missing from Parrish Hall outside room 130.
Status: Investigation

 

Criminal Mischief 

Date: Wednesday, March 13
Time: 9:09 a.m.
Location: David Kemp Residence Hall
Synopsis: An employee from Grounds reported stones overturned outside David Kemp Hall. A Public Safety Officer responded and documented the damage.
Status: Investigation

 

Fire Alarm    

Date: Thursday, March 14
Time: 12:59 a.m.
Location: Parrish Hall
Synopsis: A fire alarm was received from within Parrish Hall. The cause of the alarm was burnt food. The alarm was silenced then reset.
Status: Cleared.

Synopsis: A Swarthmore non-resident student reported unauthorized charges on his debit card. Swarthmore Police and Public Safety responded and a report was taken. This matter is under investigation.

Synopsis: Public Safety investigated the unauthorized use of a college owned van by a Swarthmore student. The matter is under investigation.

Synopsis: Resident reported a suspicious person. Public Safety and Swarthmore Police investigated and cleared.

Synopsis: A staff member reported receiving a phone call from an individual stating that a female resident student reported being sexually assaulted on campus approximately three weeks ago. There is no additional information about the date, time, locations, or individuals involved at this time. Matter under investigation and information forwarded to the Title IX Coordinator.

Location: Worth Residence Hall
Synopsis: Student returned from break and found a broken window in the residence hall. There was nothing missing on initial investigation.
Status: Cleared

Time: 1:18 a.m.
Location: Essie Mae’s Snack Bar
Synopsis: Officers responded to an intrusion alarm at Clothier Hall and the report of an unknown individual observed on camera leaving by the rear door. Upon arrival there was no evidence of foul play and no one in the area matching the description of the subject seen on the camera. This information will remain on file for future reference.
