Underage Drinking 

Date: Tuesday, October 23
Time: 6:16 p.m.
Location: Lang Performing Arts Center
Synopsis: The following student was evaluated for alcohol intoxication. Upon evaluation the student was transported to the hospital and cited by Swarthmore Police Department for underage drinking.
Status: Cleared/Arrested

Cell Phone Thefts 

Date: Friday, October 26
Time: 3:30-5 p.m.
Location: Service Building
Synopsis: A staff member reported the theft of two cell phones from an office within the Service Building. The value of the items is approximately $320.
Status: Investigation

 

Medical Emergency 

Date: Friday, October 26
Time: 3:08 p.m.
Location: Parrish Hall
Synopsis: A staff member reported a student in need of immediate medical assistance due to a laceration to his hand and requested Public Safety’s assistance. Paramedics responded and transported the student to the hospital.

Emergency Message Received 

Date: Friday, October 26
Time: 4:05 p.m.
Location: Benjamin West House
Synopsis: On October 26, The Emergency Management Team convened and an emergency message notification was sent to the Swarthmore Community at 4:19 p.m. advising the community of the impending hurricane.

Intoxicated Father 

Date: Friday, October 26
Time: 8:30 p.m.
Location: Wharton Residence Hall
Synopsis: Public Safety Officers were dispatched to the area behind Wharton Residence hall in regards to a father who was reportedly intoxicated and in a verbal altercation with his son. Upon arrival on the scene, the officers reported the area was clear of any activity and individuals were not located.

Time: 11:53 p.m.
Location: Dupont Lot
Synopsis: A Public Safety Officer observed a vehicle with two individuals in the back seat parked at the Dupont Lot. The individuals were interviewed and identified as part time students. The individuals stated all was fine and that they were leaving campus.

Loud Soccer Gamer

Date: Saturday, October 27
Time: 6:46 p.m.
Location: Lamb Miller Field House
Synopsis: A borough resident contacted Public Safety to file a complaint about the loud music coming from the Athletic Fields where a soccer game was about the commence. Public Safety Officers were notified and checked the area and found no unusual noise. The soccer game was beginning.

Intoxicated Student

Date: Sunday, October 28
Time: 3:27 a.m.
Location: Haverford College
Synopsis: Haverford Public Safety notified Swarthmore Public Safety that a Swarthmore student was evaulated for alcohol intoxication and transported to the hospital after attending a Haverford College party.
Status: Dean’s Referral

Location: Wharton Lot
Synopsis: The following individual was transported to the hospital for alcohol intoxication evaluation and was cited by Swarthmore Police for underage drinking.
Status: Cleared/Arrested

 

Fire Alarm 

Date: Sunday, October 28
Time: 4:30 a.m.
Location: Phi Psi
Synopsis: A fire alarm was received from the Phi Psi fraternity due to a falsely pulled manual station activation by an intoxicated unknown female.
Status: Inactive

 

Fire Alarm 

Date: Monday, October 29
Time: 1:40 p.m.
Location: Worth Residence Hall
Synopsis: The alarm was received within Worth Residence hall. There was no sign of fire or smoke observed. The cause of the alarm was cigarette smoke.
Status: Cleared

 

Power Failure 

Date: Monday, October 29
Time: 6:15 p.m.
Location: Swarthmore College Campus
Synopsis: A series of minor power interruptions occurred between 6:15 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. at various areas on campus culminating in a campus wide power outage at 8:00 p.m. and lasting throughout the night.
Status: Closed

 

Property Damage 

Date: Monday, October 29
Time: 8:42 p.m.
Location: Ashton House
Synopsis: A large tree branch fell and crashed onto the roof of Ashton House. There appears not to be any damage to the exterior of the roof. There was some minor damage reported on the upper floors to the walls to due to the impact of the large tree limb hitting the roof.
