For the second year in a row, the party will be held by the Social Affairs Committee and Student Council, and they currently plan to hold it in Upper Tarble and Paces. Alcohol will be served in Paces, which will also have a haunted house, tables, and space for mingling. Upper Tarble will serve as the dry dance floor.
SAC Co-Director Anna Mello ’08 explained that while other proposals were received, “most were not very concrete… the most concrete proposal that we got was from the frats and LASS [the Ladies Soiree Society]… but we didn’t want to associate the party with any particular group on campus.”
Mello is excited about the decoration possibilities. “In the hallway between the two we’re going to have spooky music… we want to think about how to make that space look cool and haunted.” Upstairs, the space will be curtained off to make more intimate spaces, and “Chris Gagne [’08] will be doing lighting and some DJing.”
Will SAC and Student Council be hosting the party from here on out? “It depends on next year,” said Mello. “We may have to throw a party again, but I don’t know.” About the upcoming party, “We’re excited… Paces will be a haunted house, maybe we’ll make Upper Tarble medieval-themed… last year it was packed so I think it will be this year too.”
