Location: Mary Lyon parking lot

Synopsis: Public Safety received a report of damage to a College-owned vehicle. There were no injuries.

Noise Complaint

Date: Wednesday, April 04, 2018

Time: 01:37 AM

Location: Worth Courtyard

Synopsis: Public Safety responded to Worth Courtyard for a noise complaint. Swarthmore students were found talking in the courtyard and were asked to move to another location. They cooperated and no further action was required.

Intrusion Alarm

Location: The Inn at Swarthmore

Synopsis: Public Safety responded to Swarthmore Campus & Community Store for the report of an activated alarm. It was determined that the alarm was malfunctioning due to work being performed on the alarm system.

Location: Wharton parking lot

Synopsis: Public Safety and Swarthmore Police responded to a noise complaint about a vehicle alarm. The vehicle’s owner was identified as a Swarthmore student and the alarm was turned off.

Sexual Assault

Location: Residence hall on campus

Synopsis: Public Safety received a report of sexual assault of a Swarthmore student by another Swarthmore student. The matter has been referred to the Title IX Office.

Fire Alarm

Date: Friday, April 06, 2018

Time: 01:50 PM

Location: Palmer Residence Hall

Synopsis: Public Safety responded to Pittenger Residence Hall for an activated fire alarm. There was no smoke or fire. It was determined that the alarm was activated by cleaning in the area.

Location: McCabe Library

Synopsis: Public Safety and Facilities responded to McCabe Library for the report of an individual inside a malfunctioning elevator. The individual was extricated without incident.

Location: Worth Residence Hall

Synopsis: Public Safety responded to Worth Residence Hall for a noise complaint. The room was identified and the student complied with a request to turn down the music.

Synopsis: Public Safety responded to Worth Health Center for an activated intrusion alarm. The area was checked with negative results.

Synopsis: Public Safety responded to Dana Residence Hall for the report of an unauthorized party. It was determined that there were several underage students drinking alcohol in a residence. Alcohol was confiscated and the matter referred to the Dean’s Office.

Synopsis: While on patrol, Public Safety found Swarthmore students smoking marijuana. The marijuana was confiscated and the matter referred to the Dean’s Office.

Synopsis: Public Safety received a report of a possible incident of dating violence between two Swarthmore students. The matter was referred to the Title IX Office.
