Time: 1:19 p.m.

Location: Cunningham Parking Lot

Synopsis: Public Safety responded to the report of an unidentified person asleep within a vehicle parked in Cunningham Parking Lot. Upon arrival the vehicle was gone.

Fire Alarm

Date: Wednesday, September 10th

Time: 1:52 p.m.

Location: Worth Residence Hall

Synopsis: Public Safety responded to a fire alarm within Worth Residence Hall. Upon arrival, there was no sign of smoke or fire. It was determined the alarm was activated due to burnt popcorn.

Disturbance

Date: Wednesday, September 10th

Time: 1:34 p.m.

Location: Parrish East Circle

Synopsis: A Public Safety officer observed a dispute between a student driver and the driver of another vehicle who followed the student to Parrish East Circle to discuss the student failing to stop for a stop sign. The driver of the other vehicle called 911 for Swarthmore Police to respond.

Emergency Message Received

Date: Wednesday, September 10th

Time: 9:45 p.m.

Location: Off Campus Location

Synopsis: Public Safety responded to the corner of Rutgers and Yale Avenue after receiving an EmergenSee alert from a tablet, The area was checked with negative results. Upon further investigation, the owner of the tablet was identified as a Swarthmore staff member. Swarthmore Police were notified, and responded along with Public Safety. It was determined that the staff member accidentally activated the EmergenSee application.

Date: Thursday, September 11th

Time: 9:37 a.m.

Location: Science Center

Synopsis: While on a routine patrol outside, Public Safety observed a garden hose stretched across two walkways, causing a safety hazard. Grounds was notified.

Medical Emergency

Date: Thursday, September 11th

Time: 11:42 a.m.

Location: Worth Health Center

Synopsis: Public Safety and Swarthmore Ambulance responded to Worth Health Center for the report of a Swarthmore resident student in need of medical assistance. The student was transported to the hospital.

Fire Alarm

Date: Thursday, September 11th

Time: 6:50 p.m.

Location: Wharton Residence Hall

Synopsis: Public Safety responded to a fire alarm within Wharton Residence Hall. Upon arrival, there was no sign of smoke or fire. It was determined the alarm was activated due to steam from the shower. Several unsuccessful attempts were made to reset the alarm panel. Facilities was notified.

Synopsis: Public Safety assisted Swarthmore Police with a false alarm at the “Barn Apartments.”

Date: Thursday, September 11th

Time: 9:50 p.m.

Location: Kohlberg Hall

Synopsis: Public Safety responded to a fire alarm within Kohlberg Hall. Upon arrival, there was no sign of smoke or fire. The reason for activation is unknown.

Fire Alarm

Date: Friday, September 12th

Time: 2:07 a.m.

Location: Worth Residence Hall

Synopsis: Public Safety responded to a fire alarm within Kohlberg Hall. Upon arrival, there was no sign of smoke or fire. Officers observed damage to one of the pull stations, rendering it inoperable. An “out of service” sign was placed over the pull station and Facilities was notified.

Theft

Date: Friday, September 12th

Time: 1:27 p.m.

Location: Parrish Hall

Synopsis: Public Safety received a report via email from a Swarthmore resident student regarding a theft from within Parrish Hall. The student reported that several items were missing from a box that was sealed and placed in student storage. No further information at this time.

Medical Response/Possession of a Liquid Malt Brew

Date: Saturday, September 13th

Time: 12:49 a.m.

Location: Hallowell Residence Hall

Synopsis: Public Safety responded to Hallowell Residence Hall for the report of an intoxicated Swarthmore resident student. Upon arrival, the student did not require medical assistance. The matter was referred to the Dean’s Office.

Weapons Use and Sale

Date: Saturday, September 13th

Time: 1:01 a.m.

Location: Alice Paul Residence Hall

Synopsis: Public Safety responded to Alice Paul Residence Hall for the report of a Swarthmore resident student who was alarmed by another Swarthmore resident student who was possessing and inappropriately handling a knife.

Criminal Mischief

Date: Saturday, September 13th

Time: 3:45 p.m.

Location: Crum Meadow

Synopsis: Public Safety responded to the Crum Meadow for the report of damaged property. Upon arrival, the officer observed two damaged bird feeders.

Disorderly Conduct/Possession of a Liquid Malt Brew

Date: Sunday, September 14th

Time: 12:40 a.m.

Location: Willets Residence Hall

Synopsis: Public Safety responded to Willets dorm in reference to a belligerent intoxicated student. Swarthmore Police and Medic responded. The student was transported to the hospital. The student was subsequently charged.

Time: 1:12 a.m.

Location: Bond Memorial Hall

Synopsis: Public Safety responded to a fire alarm within Bond Memorial Hall. Upon arrival, there was no sign of smoke or fire. It was determined that the alarm was activated by a pull station. Facilities was notified.

Date: Sunday, September 14th

Time: 12:51 a.m.

Location: Delta Upsilon Fraternity House

Synopsis: Public Safety received a report from a SWAT Team member regarding safety concerns at the Delta Upsilon Fraternity House. Upon arrival, it was determined that the party had reached capacity. The students were advised not to let anyone else enter until the crowd dissipated. No further incidents were reported.

Date: Sunday, September 14th

Time: 12:13 a.m.

Location: Sharples Dining Hall

Synopsis: Public Safety responded to the exterior of Sharples Dining Hall for the report of a belligerent intoxicated Swarthmore resident student. Upon arrival, it was determined that the intoxicated student did not require medical assistance and agreed to return to his dorm room. The matter has been referred to the Dean’s Office.

Date: Sunday, September 14th

Time: 11:30 a.m.

Location: Worth Residence Hall

Synopsis: Public Safety responded to a smoke detector alarm within Worth Residence Hall. Upon arrival, there was no sign of smoke or fire. It was determined that the alarm was activated due to steam from the shower.

Synopsis: Public Safety responded to a smoke detector alarm within Worth Residence Hall. Upon arrival, there was no sign of smoke or fire. It was determined that the alarm was activated due to dust.
