Dear Class of 2016,
Welcome to The Daily Gazette! We’ll be in your inbox Monday through Friday every week that classes are in session. You can also check us out anytime on our website. We do plastic (your PC) but not paper (so you won’t find us lying around campus).
We’re so excited to meet you, and we’ve put together a special issue just for you. Whether you’re excited about classes, campus life, sports, or radio, you’ll find our wisdom about getting involved at Swarthmore right here.
We’ve also enlisted your classmates to share their pre-Swat jitters, and their international perspective, on getting to where you are.
It’s so awesome to be starting out on your four-year journey here, but scary too (we’ve all been there). The important thing is to find your niche (theater, perhaps?) and stay true to yourself (in everything from academics to sex).
If you like what you read here, don’t worry you’re in for a lot more of it. We love writing articles that create dialogue about important issues on campus (check out those long comment threads!).
If you like what you read here, and you’d like to join us in writing/editing/photographing/web-designing/video-making please come to our meeting on September 6th in Shane Lounge (TV room) in Parrish Hall at 7:30 p.m. We’ll feed you and give you a tour of our office upstairs. Can’t wait to meet you!
With love and anticipation,
Your Editors
