January 24, 12:18 am – Alcohol Intoxication
Sgt. Stufflet was assisting Springfield Police on 1/12/2009 at 11:50 p.m. when he observed a vehicle traveling east on Fairview Road without the headlights activated. The vehicle then struck a utility pole in the vicinity of Cornell Avenue. While speaking with the driver a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage was detected. The operator’s appeared dazed and had trouble speaking. After failing several field sobriety tests she was placed under arrest for driving under the influence.

Theft
A resident of Oberlin Avenue reported a wheel cover had been taken from her vehicle. She discovered the item missing on 1/14/2009 and had last seen it on the vehicle three days previously. Chief Craig took the report.
A Rutledge resident reported a suspected theft of packages from her residence in the 200 block of Linden Avenue. She was expecting deliveries on 12/18/2008 and 1/9/09 and the items have not been received. Officer Stilwell took the report.

Life is rough.
I can understand someone getting away with a backpack, laptop, or wallet. But how does one steal speakers and a microwave without somewhow looking conspicuous? And in broad daylight nonetheless.
But how did they resolve the bat attack?
S, pretty sure the times are when the crimes were reported, not when the theft occured.
