Editor’s note: This article was initially published in The Daily Gazette, Swarthmore’s online, daily newspaper founded in Fall 1996. As of Fall 2018, the DG has merged with The Phoenix. See the about page to read more about the DG.

Don “Donnie” Thomas, Dining Services: Phillies are going all the way, man. They’re my team and this is their year.

Eleonore Baginski, Modern Languages: I have been a Philly fan since 1965 and I went to Game Five in 1993. I hope they finally win this year!
Cassy Burnett, Modern Languages: I think it is wonderful that the Phillies are in the World Series. It is exciting for the fans and they are a fun team to watch.

Daniel Cabrera ’12: I’m rooting for the Phillies to win since I go to
Swarthmore and I’m near Philadelphia.

Sofia Rivkin-Haas ’09: If the Oakland A’s or the San Francisco Giants were in the World Series I would root for them, but since they’re not I’m rooting for the Phillies.

Joan Friedman, Spanish: I have been a Phillie Phan since forever, more precisely since my son was around 5 and he became infatuated with Darren Daulton. It’s going to be a short series…4 games celebration in PHILLY! Go Phillies!

Michael Giannangeli ’12: I want to see the Rays win this year. They’re a
great story going from worst team to the World Series in a year and it
would be cool to see them finish it out with a championship.
