Student Council Report

March 28, 2007

Editor’s note: This article was initially published in The Daily Gazette, Swarthmore’s online, daily newspaper founded in Fall 1996. As of Fall 2018, the DG has merged with The Phoenix. See the about page to read more about the DG.

On Tuesday’s meeting, Student Council discussed its budget for next year and decided to propose minor changes.

Council is continuing to work on the “Thanksgiving in the Spring” initiative. They have discovered that the Honors schedule is highly flexible and that the science faculty have no clear consensus on how seriously this would effect scheduling of labs.

Council adjourned early in order to hold study breaks in five locations around campus publicizing the appointments process. One important change is that there are two committees which students were not able to apply for during the last round of appointments. These are the newly formed “Ad Hoc Committee on Documented Disabilities” and the “Library Committee,” which is seeking students for the first time in a while. Work on the Student Council website is almost completed; also remember to send messages for Reserved Student Digest to digest [at] swarthmore [dot] edu.

Council will be meeting at 10 PM Tuesday next week because of Passover.
