Marie Rousseau for Campus Life Representative

Yellow dear Students ov Swarthmore!

My name iz Marie Rousseau I am interested in being ze Campus Life Representative. Actually, for those of you who don’t know me, I am French, but I do not actually sport zis French accent. Oops, I did it again! I also don’t usually make Britney Spears song references.

Now for the serious part. When I came onto this campus, an innocent freshman newly imported to the land of the free, I quickly realized that I could never have found a campus life as rewarding in France or England. I am, therefore, extra enthusiastic about maintaining and ameliorating campus life at Swarthmore. As an eager event attendee, I have been able to observe the Swarthmore student body both outside and inside of its natural element; therefore, I feel that I would be able to interpret student needs. I also enjoy meeting new people, Swarthmore being more diverse than my high school, and I would be interested in cooperating with students from all backgrounds in order to meet their expectations.

As a French tutor, I have discovered I enjoy listening to and helping solve people’s problems, which I feel is an essential part of the role of Campus Life Representative. I have also helped advertise numerous events, both as an i20 International Club member and the Public Relations Officer of Peace Week. Therefore, I think you should consider electing me, a true blood Frenchie, as Campus Life Representative (especially since I’ll never get a shot at being President of the United States)!
