Swarthmore men’s swimming defeated Ursinus College and Salisbury University at home on Friday and Saturday, remaining unbeaten in the Centennial Conference and boasting a 5-1 overall record. The Garnet broke seven pool records and one program record.

Notable Swimmers: Cami Wilson ’26 broke a Ware Pool and program record in his 50-meter leg of the 200-meter free relay on Friday with a time of 20.57. The relay of Wilson, Ben Wesley ’24, Danny Castle ’27, and Ethan Marotte ’24 finished first with a pool record of 1:22.29.

Wilson also broke the Ware Pool record in the 100-meter fly with a first-place time of 49.12. 

The 400-meter medley relay of Castle, Wesley, Wilson, and Cole Griscavage ’25 earned first with a pool record of 3:22.12.

The 200-medley relay of Wilson, Castle, Wesley, and Benton Greenberg ’26 broke the pool record with a first-place finish of 1:32.07, which ranks seventh all-time in program history. 

Jacob Sherman ’25 broke the Ware Pool record in the 200-meter backstroke with a first-place finish of 1:51.64. 

The 400-meter freestyle relay team of Griscavage, Wilson, Greenberg, and Castle earned a new Ware Pool record with a first-place finish of 3:05.44. 

Women’s Swimming:

Swarthmore College: 252, Ursinus College: 74

Swarthmore College: 265, Salisbury University: 67

Swarthmore women’s swimming defeated Ursinus College and Salisbury University at home on Friday and Saturday, remaining undefeated this season. The Garnet secured their 29th consecutive conference victory and 25th straight dual meet victory, dating back to 2018. In total, Swarthmore tallied seven NCAA B-Cuts, three program records, two conference records, and seven Ware Pool records over the weekend.

Notable Swimmers: The 200-meter free relay of Elle Anthony ’26, Genine Collins ’27, Ainsley Jane Tambling ’26, and Erin Szuromi ’25 earned first with a NCAA B-Cut and pool record time of 1:35.02. 

Quinn Weygandt ’26 earned first in the 200-meter IM with a time of 2:03.68, breaking the conference record, program record, and pool record. Weygandt earned first in the 400-meter IM with a time of 4:25.38, breaking the conference record, program record, and pool record. The sophomore currently ranks fifth in the nation in the event. Weygandt followed these two wins with a first-place finish in the 200-meter fly with a time of 2:04.41, earning an NCAA B-Cut.

Collins finished first in the 50-meter freestyle with a program-record time of 23.30. 

Women’s Basketball:

Swarthmore College: 46, Dickinson College: 65

Swarthmore women’s basketball traveled to Carlisle, PA, on Saturday afternoon to face Dickinson College. The Garnet fell to the Red Devils after a slow start, snapping their three-game win streak. The Garnet trailed in the first set, 16-2, and the first half, 32-13. Despite a 23-point surge in the third quarter, Swarthmore could not make a comeback.

Notable Players: Alyssa Hayashi ’25 led the Garnet offense with fifteen points, while Anna Hansson ’26 added ten.

Swarthmore College: 53, Ursinus College: 74

Swarthmore women’s basketball faced Ursinus College at home on Wednesday night. Despite leading 27-25 at halftime, the Garnet fell to the Bears after Ursinus scored 32 points in the third quarter.

Notable Players: Carly Murphy ’27 led the Garnet offense with fifteen points, while Hansson added fourteen and Hayashi had twelve.

Men’s Basketball: 

Swarthmore College: 67, Dickinson College: 55

Swarthmore men’s basketball traveled to Carlisle, PA, to face Dickinson College on Saturday afternoon. After leading 35-28 at the half, the Garnet beat the Red Devils, remaining undefeated in conference play and extending their win streak to six games. 

Notable Players: Vinny DeAngelo ’24 led the Swarthmore offense with seventeen points. Michael Caprise ’24 earned his third double-double with fifteen points and fifteen boards. Nyle Coleman ’27 had eleven points.

Swarthmore College: 82, Ursinus College: 66

Swarthmore men’s basketball beat Ursinus College at Tarble Pavilion on Wednesday night. The Garnet led 37-23 at halftime and added 45 points in the second half. The Garnet remain unbeaten in conference play (4-0) and maintain a seven-game win streak.

Notable Players: DeAngelo led the Garnet with eighteen points. Cal Hanson ’26 added fifteen. Caleb Aurelien ’27 had eight rebounds.
