We’re Hiring Editors! Join Our Family

April 25, 2017

Editor’s note: This article was initially published in The Daily Gazette, Swarthmore’s online, daily newspaper founded in Fall 1996. As of Fall 2018, the DG has merged with The Phoenix. See the about page to read more about the DG.

Being an editor at The Daily Gazette is one of the best (paid) jobs on campus. Depending on your tastes, you’ll find yourself calmly perfecting someone’s article, running around campus to break the next big story, or dozing off at a weird Friday-night office party. Many former DG editors have gone on to become professional journalists.

How do you get this job? Luckily, every so often some of us graduate or go abroad, so new positions open up.

For next fall, we’re looking for a Managing Editor, Web Editor, Assistant Opinions Editor, Assistant News Editor, and Assistant Arts and Features Editor.

Experience helps, but is not required.

The Daily Gazette

The Daily Gazette is Swarthmore’s daily newspaper. The Gazette is sent out every work-day to more than 2,500 people, and has thousands of readers from across the world.

The Daily Gazette was organized during Fall semester 1996 by Sam Schulhofer-Wohl ’98. The goal: to provide timely coverage of campus news and Garnet sports while maintaining complete independence from the administration and student government.
