Board votes to adopt Bloom's proposal for higher wages
The Board of Managers voted Saturday to approve President Al Bloom’s proposal on staff compensation.
The proposal includes an hourly minimum wage of $10.38 and the continuation of the benefit bank, which would amount to another 88 cents in hourly wages to be used for health or childcare benefit packages and a means-tested healthcare subsidy for those earning less than $14 per hour.
According to Chair of the Board of Managers Barbara Mather ’65, the debate before the vote lasted about an hour. …
