Sweet Exhale

The colors tremble under your gaze

Watered in whispers

You showed them how to love

I wonder

What does it feel like to lie under the sun

Bare on the bench

The bee stops

Plucks at the petal

Sucks the sweet yellow

Glazing juice drips

Limbs crumble

Something’s shifted

I think I’ve fallen now

Drifting through the air

The glow at the base of your throat

Down

You swallow

Slow slow slowly

We’re almost there

Almost

Slow slow slowly

The bee flies off
