The Book and Key Society: April 18, 1918

The minutes for the April 11, 1918 meeting of the Book and Key were ripped out of the journal. Below are the minutes of the Book and Key meeting from last century, today.

The Temple, April 18, 1918

Regular meeting of Book and Key Society called to order by Senior Praeces on the above date.

Minutes of preceding meeting read and approved.

Senior Ballard reports that William Jones’s turn of service as janitor will expire on the 1st June.

Senior Donnelly brought up the question of table system.

Senior Donnelly also gives the new members a few hints on how to start the year right.

Senior Riley & Senior Ewell discuss the elimination of parlamental(sic) clubs.

Senior Ballard urges all members to break up the smoking in section-D of Wharton hall!

Senior PIerce discussed Student government rules & Honor system

Senior Simpson discussed the elimination of one of the Spring sports.

Military Training discussed by society.

Keton Kakkar ’20

Keton entered Swarthmore with the class of 2019 and graduated with the class of 2020. He double majored in English literature and computer science and was awarded Honors at commencement. A former editor of this newspaper, he was responsible for merging The Daily Gazette with The Phoenix, among other initiatives. He grew up in Sands Point, New York, completed the last two years of his secondary schooling at Phillips Academy in Andover Massachusetts, and is a member of the class of 2025 at the NYU School of Law.
