Athlete of the Week: Madge Ross

What She’s Done: Been one of the top scorers on a Garnet team that went 7-2 over the winter break schedule.

Favorite Career Moment: I definitely think the top moment in my career was beating Muhlenberg on November 29. Coming into that game, Swarthmore had not beaten the Mules for 7 years, and we came out firing from the first whistle, leading by an astounding 19 points at halftime. I think it was that game that really set the tone for the rest of this season. We were finally able to topple the Muhlenberg dynasty and prove to ourselves and everyone in the conference that we came to play and win this year.

Season Goals: We have two major goals for this season: to end the season with 20+ wins, and to make it to conference finals and win it.

Winter Break Highlight:  I was fortunate enough to break my career [scoring] high this break. I never thought I’d be able to surpass my previous career high, so to be able to beat it, especially in my senior year, was really special. Also, this break the team had a blast in Massachusetts and we were able to visit the Basketball Hall of Fame, which was incredible.

Favorite Sharples Ice Cream:  Hands down, I LOVE the black raspberry chocolate chip. Whenever Sharps has it, I jump right in the ice cream line!
