MEN’S SOCCER: Garnet Shock #5 Ducks

HOBOKEN, N.J. – #23 Swarthmore (4-0-1) picked up a win over previously unbeaten #5 Stevens Institute of Technology (5-1), 2-0, Saturday afternoon at the De Baun Athletic Complex. Forward Morgan Langley ’11 scored his third goal of the season and David Sterngold ’12 picked-up his second career goal.

FIELD HOCKEY: Garnet Fall to Eagles

SWARTHMORE, Pa. — Visiting Eastern (4-2) picked-up a 2-1 win over Swarthmore (1-3) on a humid Saturday afternoon at Clothier Field. Abbe Muller ’10 collected the lone goal for the Garnet off a pass from Natalie Stone ’09 in the Garnet home opener.

VOLLEYBALL: Wang, Pezzola Shine at Garnet Classic

SWARTHMORE, Pa. — Swarthmore outside hitters Jen Wang ’09 and Genny Pezzola ’12 were named All-Tournament after leading the Garnet to the championship game at the sixth annual Garnet Classic, held in muggy Tarble Pavilion this past weekend. Swarthmore beat Clark and Cabrini before falling to Salisbury in the championship match Sunday afternoon, 3-1.

MEN’S TENNIS: Garnet Duo Shines at Tim Berman Memorial

SWARTHMORE, Pa. — The top Swarthmore doubles’ pair, Kevin Shaughnessy ’09 and Eric Legunn ’12, advanced to the final of the Flight 1 doubles’ competition at the Tim Berman Memorial Invitational this past weekend before falling to the University of Delaware duo, 8-2.
