Swat’s 2011 Garnet Weekend builds on last year’s success
In April 2010, the Swarthmore administration decided to replace the Family and Friends Weekend, up until that point held annually in the spring, with the Garnet Homecoming and Family Weekend held in the fall. This new event fused a revival of the Homecoming weekend featuring athletic events on campus, which the college discontinued in 1997, with the Family and Friends weekend, allowing parents to visit students earlier in the year.
