Four students selected as Truman Scholars
This year, all four of Swarthmore’s nominees for the prestigious Truman Scholarship were selected. Rachel Ackoff ’07, Bree Bang-Jensen ’07, Katie Chamblee ’07 and Jonathan Petkun ’07 were four of over 600 candidates nominated by institutions across the country to compete for the 75 coveted scholarship spots, awarded annually to college juniors who exhibit, according to the Truman Foundation mission statement, “exceptional leadership potential” and “[committment] to careers in government, the non…
